A 13 epidemiológus és infektológus szakember panaszai között szerepel az őszi járványhullám és a mostani omikron hullám kapcsán látott kormányzati passzivitás a várható halálos áldozatok óriási száma ellenére.
Az egyik lemondott szakértő, Krzysztof Filipiak, a Varsói Orvosi Egyetem rektorhelyettese szerint a járvány Lengyelországban több mint 200 ezer áldozatot követelt, akiknek fele igazolt Covid-19 eset volt, másik fele pedig nem igazolt, illetve olyan beteg, akik a járvány által lebénult egészségügy miatt haltak meg. A hivatalos halálozási adat nemrég lépte át a 100 ezer főt.
A szakértők szerint a kormány akadályozza a hatékony védekezés megvalósítását.
Az utolsó csepp a pohárban az lehetett, hogy a kormány védelmébe vett egy regionális oktatási hivatalnokot, aki az oltást kísérletinek nevezte, illetve, hogy a lengyel parlamentbe, a Sejm-be meghívták több tucatnyi nyíltan oltásellenes szervezet képviselőjét, hogy tartsanak beszédet. Az oltásellenes beállítottság erős a hatalmon lévő PiS (Törvény és Igazságosság) pártban és Lengyelországban az egyik legalacsonyabb az EU-ban a teljes oltási sorral történt átoltottság (a népesség 56%-a).
Az új megbetegedések főleg a kelet-lengyel régióban jelentkeznek, amelyben az oltásszkepticizmus és a járványtagadás nagyon elterjedt.
A miniszterelnöki iroda válasza szerint a kormány feladata a döntéshozatal a szakértők (az egészségügyi tanács, a közgazdászok és egyéb területek szakemberei) különböző álláspontjai alapján – írja Dobson Szabolcs szakgyógyszerész a koronavírus vakcináció – szakirodalmi tallózó csoportban.
