 Az 53 éves Petteri Orpo híveihez intézett beszédében úgy fogalmazott, hogy erős mandátumot kaptak politikájuk megvalósításához.
  
 A voksok 97,7 százalékos feldolgozottsága mellett pártja 20,7 százalékos támogatottságot, és ezzel 48 mandátumot szerezhet a 200 fős törvényhozásban. Második helyen a bevándorlásellenes Finnek (korábban Igazi Finnek) végeztek a voksok 20,1 százalékával (46 mandátum), míg a jelenlegi miniszterelnök, Sanna Marin pártja, a baloldali finn Szociáldemokrata Párt (SPD) 19,9 százalékot szerzett (43 mandátum).
 „Az eredményből kiindulva, a Nemzeti Szövetség vezetésével fognak zajlani a Finnország új kormányának megalakítását célzó tárgyalások” – hangsúlyozta Orpo.
 A három legerősebb párt 20 százalék körüli eredményével egyik politikai erő sem lesz képes egyedül kormányt alakítani. Mindazonáltal a legtöbb szavazatot szerző párt vezetője kap hagyományosan elsőként kormányalakítási megbízást.
