Az Európai Unió 300–500 millió euróval tervezi támogatni a lőszergyártókat a blokk költségvetéséből – számolt be a Bloomberg Thierry Breton európai biztosra hivatkozva.
Ezek a pénzeszközök a korábban jóváhagyott 2 milliárd eurón felül fognak érkezni, mivel az EU 12 hónap alatt 1 millió tüzérségi lőszert kíván biztosítani Ukrajnának.
A költségek az EU termelési kapacitásának növelésére irányuló szélesebb stratégia harmadik irányvonalának részét képezik. A program előírja továbbá a lőszer közös beszerzését és az Európai Békalapon keresztüli költségtérítést azon tagállamok számára, amelyek készleteikből modern és szovjet lőszert is küldenek Ukrajnába.
Breton egyben elismerte, a puskaporgyártásban problémák merülhetnek fel.
„Figyelünk rá és már dolgozunk rajta” – mondta Breton, hozzátéve, hogy már vannak országok, amelyek jelöltek az új kapacitás létrehozására.
A Bloomberg megjegyezte, az EU tagállamai arról értesültek, hogy a lőszergyártás egyik kulcsproblémája a lőporellátás, mivel azt jelenleg csak néhány ország szállítja. Az EU célja a termelés növelése mind a meglévő, mind az új vállalkozásokban.
