Oroszország külügyminisztériuma 45 lengyel nagykövetségi és konzulátusi alkalmazottat utasított ki megtorlásképpen azért, amiért Varsó a múlt hónapban kiutasított Lengyelországból ugyanennyi orosz diplomatát, akiket azzal gyanúsítottak, hogy az orosz hírszerzésnek dolgoztak.
Korábban Oroszország azt is közölte, hogy két bolgár diplomatát is kiutasít megtorló lépésként azt követően, hogy a bolgár külügyminisztérium az egyik orosz diplomatát persona non gratának nyilvánította, és 72 órát adott neki, hogy elhagyja az országot.
Finnország ugyancsak bejelentette, hogy kiutasít két orosz diplomatát, egy másiknak pedig megszünteti a vízumát Oroszország Ukrajnában zajló inváziója miatt – közölte a finn kormány.
A héten már több más európai uniós ország is hasonló intézkedéseket hozott.
