 A két ország közötti együttműködés kérdését litvániai látogatásán Jurij Dzsihir ukrán védelmi miniszterhelyettes vitatta meg, aki megbeszélést folytatott Arvydas Anushauskas litván védelmi miniszterrel, Monika Tuchkute miniszterhelyettessel, valamint a Honvédelmi Minisztérium kancellárjával, Kristina Divjatnikovaite-val.
  
 Megjegyezték, hogy a megbeszélésen az ukrán tisztségviselő tájékoztatást adott az ukrán védelmi minisztérium katonai beszerzési rendszerének reformjáról és a korrupció elleni küzdelemről hangsúlyozva, hogy ez a kérdés alapvetően fontos a miniszter, Rusztem Umjerov számára.
 Anushauskas ugyanakkor elmondta, hogy Vilnius nagyra értékeli és támogatja Kijev erőfeszítéseit a háború ellenére a védelmi reformok végrehajtására.
 „Litvánia megosztja tudását Ukrajnával az átlátható közbeszerzési rendszer létrehozása és fenntartása terén. Megosztjuk tapasztalatainkat – honnan indultunk, milyen jogi keretekre van szükség, hogyan biztosítható a beszerzések átláthatósága és hogyan lehet megelőzni a korrupciót” – mondta.
 Korábban Litvánia külügyminisztere, Gabrielus Landsbergis azt mondta, hogy az Ukrajna fegyverellátását kompenzáló Európai Békealap (EPF) bővítése nélkül a kis EU-államok nehézségekbe ütköznek.
