A fegyverek szállítása Ukrajnának az orosz agresszió elleni küzdelemhez tisztességes üzlet a nyugati partnerországok számára, mert nem a saját fiait kell küldeni meghalni egy másik országba – jelentette ki Dmitro Kuleba külügyminiszter egy televíziós interjúban, számolt be hétfőn az rbc.ua hírportál.
A jelentés szerint az ukrán diplomácia vezetője a CNN amerikai hírtelevíziónak nyilatkozva elmondta: „Bármi is az ára Ukrajna támogatásának, a saját kezűleg folytatott harc ára sokkal magasabb lenne. Egy dolog tankot küldeni Ukrajnának. Lehet, hogy nehéz döntés, de másik dolog egy fiatal fiút beültetni a tankba, és elküldeni meghalni egy másik országért.”
A külügyminiszter hangsúlyozta, hogy „soha nem kértünk külföldi katonákat ukrán földön”. „Ezért nevezem ezt tisztességes alkunak. Nem vagyunk olyanok, mint azok az országok, amelyek arra kérik az Egyesült Államokat, hogy jöjjön és mentse meg őket. Azt mondjuk, hogy tudjuk, hogyan mentsük meg magunkat, adjátok nekünk „Dávid parittyáját, hogy leterítsük Góliátot” – mutatott rá Dmitro Kuleba.
A hírportál emlékeztetett arra, hogy Kuleba korábban megjegyezte, Ukrajna szinte minden típusú fegyvert megkapott a nyugati szövetségeseitől, amit kért. Már csak a vadászgépek maradtak.
