 A jelentés szerint az államfő elmondta: Putyin észrevehetően nagy erőfeszítést fejtett ki Ukrajnáról szóló cikkének megírására. „Ami ezt az időt illeti, úgy vélem, állandóan beszélünk a találkozónkról, Ukrajna és Oroszország elnökeinek a találkozójára azonban valami miatt nincs idő” – tette hozzá. „Én egyszerűen nem tudtam, hogy mire vesztegeti az idejét (Putyin), de most látom az eredményt” – jegyezte meg.
 Zelenszkij úgy vélte, pár dolgot megvitathatnának Putyinnal abból, amiket a cikkében összeírogatott. „Valószínűleg sok anyagot tudnék biztosítani számára, amiket fel tudna használni egy következő cikkhez” – fejtette ki.
 Az elnök azt is elmondta, hogy még nem volt rá ideje a feszített programja miatt, hogy Putyin cikkét végig elolvassa.
