A jelentés szerint Macron a TF1 francia tévécsatornának nyilatkozva elmondta: „valaki nem érti, miért beszélek továbbra is Putyinnal. Azért tettem, mert ebben Franciaország szerepét látom. Egy oroszországi látogatás? Ehhez előfeltételek kellenek, tehát Putyin gesztusai.” Hozzátette: „Putyinnal továbbra is Ukrajna elnökének a tudtával fogok beszélni, és feltéve, hogy ez hasznos lesz.”
A francia elnök ugyanakkor jelezte, hogy az általa elvárt előfeltételek még nem teljesültek. A szavai szerint a kapcsolatai Volodimir Zelenszkij elnökkel nem romlottak meg az orosz féllel történő kapcsolattartás miatt. „Én voltam az első vezető, aki a két forduló (a 2019-es elnökválasztás) között fogadta őt” – emlékeztetett Emmanuel Macron.

A jelentés szerint a médium forrásai jelezték, hogy a Nyugat Olaszország tűzszüneti tervéről is tárgyal. Olaszország tervének megfelelően az első szakasz a teljes tűzszünet és a csapatok kivonása a frontvonalból; a második szakasz – Ukrajna csatlakozása az EU-hoz és garanciák a NATO-ba való be nem lépésre; a harmadik szakasz egy kétoldalú megállapodás Ukrajna és Oroszország között a Krímről és a Donbászról. Berlinben május 14-én találkoztak a NATO külügyminiszterei, hogy megtárgyalják a finn és a svéd csatlakozási kérelmet. Számos ország támogatásáról biztosította a csatlakozni kívánó északi országokat, Törökország azonban aggályait fejezte ki – írja a Reuters.
Berlinbe érkezve Mevlüt Cavusoglu török külügyminiszter elmondta, hogy a NATO-tagállamoknak meg kell vitatnia azt az ügyet, hogy a NATO-csatlakozást fontolgató Finnország és Svédország „elfogadhatatlan és felháborító” módon támogatja a Kurdisztáni Munkáspártot (PKK) és a Népvédelmi Egységek (YPG) nevű kurd milíciát.
A török nép nagy többsége ellenzi ezen országok csatlakozását, és azt kérik, hogy blokkoljuk ezt a folyamatot – mondta.
Válaszul Pekka Haavesto finn külügyminiszter kijelentette, bízik abban, hogy végül sikerül megoldást találni. Ann Linde svéd külügyminiszter azt mondta a TT svéd hírügynökségnek, hogy megpróbálja megoldani a félreértéseket. Jens Stoltenberg NATO-főtitkár meleg fogadtatást és gyors csatlakozási eljárást ígért mindkét skandináv országnak. Stoltenberg, aki nem vehetett részt a berlini találkozón, mivel pozitív lett a Covid-tesztje, a tárgyalások megkezdése előtt több miniszterrel beszélt telefonon, köztük Antony Blinken amerikai külügyminiszterrel és Törökország, Finnország, Svédország külügyminisztereivel.
Tayyip Erdogan török elnök pénteken kijelentette, hogy nem tudja támogatni az északi országok csatlakozását, mivel ezek „sok terrorista szervezetnek adnak otthont”, de szóvivője szombaton azt mondta, hogy Törökország nem zárta be az ajtót.

Bärbel Bas-zal, a német szövetségi parlament, a Bundestag elnökével találkozott és tárgyalt vasárnap Kijevben Volodimir Zelenszkij elnök – adta hírül az rbc.ua hírportál az Elnöki Hivatal közlésére hivatkozva.
A kezes megköszönte a német politikusnak, hogy támogatta Ukrajnát a háború alatt.
A jelentés szerint Zelenszkij a vendége előtt hangsúlyozta: „örvendetes, hogy ilyen nehéz napokban, különleges napokban, a földünkön folyó háború napjaiban látogatott Ukrajnába, hogy támogassa.” Hozzátette: „a magam részéről szeretném megköszönni, hogy a Bundestagban fontos ukrajnai dolgokat támogatott, így a nemrég megszavazott határozatot az Ukrajnának nyújtott nehézfegyver-támogatásról.”
Volodimir Zelenszkij azt is közölte Bas-szal: „mi szeretnénk, ha ön és a Bundestag támogatná az Ukrajna európai uniós tagságáról szóló határozatot.”

Emmanuel Macron francia államfő Köztársaság lendületben (LREM) nevű pártja koalíciót kötött két másik centrista párttal a júniusi parlamenti választásokra – közölte csütörtökön Richard Ferrand, az LREM tagja és parlamenti elnöke a két párttal tartandó tanácskozás előtt.
A LREM a 2017-es választásokon Macront támogató Modem párttal és a Macron volt miniszterelnöke, Edouard Philippe által létrehozott Horizontok párttal fog egyeztetni arról, hogy milyen jelölteket indít.
A megállapodás azután született, hogy a baloldali és zöld pártok is szövetséget kötöttek a június 12-19-i választásokra. A Macron múlt havi újraválasztását követően létrejött egyezség célja megakadályozni, hogy az elnök pártja többséget szerezzen a parlamentben.
Stanislas Guerini, a Lendületben a Köztársaság (LREM) vezetője csütörtökön azt is bejelentette, hogy megváltoztatják a párt nevét. A politikai erőt a jövőben Újjászületésnek (Renaissance) hívják majd, egyebek között annak érdekében, hogy érzékeltessék megújulását, és nyitottabbnak mutatkozzon a társadalom felé.
