Nagy-Britannia több százmillió font értékű újabb hadfelszerelést szállít Ukrajnának – közölte Boris Johnson brit miniszterelnök a kijevi parlament képviselőinek tartott, videókapcsolaton közvetített keddi beszédében.
Johnson kijelentette azt is, hogy Ukrajna megnyeri az Oroszország által indított háborút. Szavai szerint ugyanis a Kreml alapvető számítási hibát, rettenetes baklövést követett el az invázióval.
Úgy fogalmazott: Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök legyőzhetetlennek mondott háborús gépezete megtört az ukránok hazafiasságának és hazaszeretetének mozdíthatatlan akadályán.
Hozzátette: az ukránok arra tanították a világot, hogy az agresszor által kifejtett brutális erőszak sem ér semmit egy olyan nép erkölcsi erejével szemben, amely elszántan küzd szabadságáért.
A Downing Street ismertetése szerint a brit kormányfő kijelentette: Ukrajna a világ elé tárta Putyin történelmi léptékékű baklövését, azt az óriási hibát, amelyet csak egy önkényuralmi vezető követhet el.
Boris Johnson szerint ugyanis egy vezető akkor szokott katasztrofális hibákat elkövetni, ha a félelem gerjesztésével uralkodik, elcsalja a választásokat, börtönbe veti bírálóit, elhallgattatja a médiát, csak talpnyalóira hallgat, és ha hatalmának immár nincs korlátja.
Amit Putyin tett, az a demokrácia reklámja – tette hozzá.
A brit miniszterelnök elmondta az ukrán törvényhozás tagjainak, hogy Nagy-Britannia további 300 millió font értékben szállít felszereléseket Ukrajnának az orosz hadműveletek elleni védelemhez.
A csomagban az ukrán városokat lövő tüzérségi ütegek lokalizálására alkalmas radarrendszerek, az ukrán erők ellátására szolgáló, nagy teherbírású drónok és több ezer éjjellátó berendezés szerepel.
Keddi beszédében Johnson elmondta azt is, hogy Nagy-Britannia már januárban, vagyis a háború kezdete előtt több repülőgépnyi rakományt szállított Ukrajnának új generációs könnyű páncéltörő fegyverrendszerekből (Next-Generation Light Anti-Tank Weapons Systems, NLAWS).
Hozzátette: London a következő hetekben Brimstone típusú, hajók ellen bevethető rakétákat és Stormer légvédelmi fegyverrendszereket is szállít Ukrajnának.
A brit kormány mindemellett páncélozott járműveket is ad civilek evakuálására támadás alatt álló területekről, és a kritikus fontosságú infrastrukturális létesítmények karbantartásán dolgozók védelmére.
A Downing Street tájékoztatása szerint ezek a járművek új, különlegesen kialakított Toyota Land Cruiser terepjárók, amelyeket a brit kormány a kelet-ukrajnai térségek polgári tisztviselőinek védelmére és a tűzvonalhoz közeli területeken élő civilek evakuálásához szállít Ukrajnának.
Johnson hivatalának szóvivője szerint ezt az ukrán kormány kérte Londontól.
Nagy-Britannia régóta Ukrajna egyik legnagyobb nyugati fegyverellátója, és a háború február végi kezdete óta is több száz hordozható légvédelmi rakétarendszert, páncéltörő rakétákat, egyéb precíziós rakétafegyverzeti eszközöket, 120 páncélozott járművet, hajók ellen bevethető rakétarendszereket és drónokat adott át az ukrán fegyveres erőknek.
A brit kormány ugyanakkor folyamatosan hangsúlyozza, hogy az Ukrajnának szállított brit fegyverzet védelmi jellegű.

Priti Patel, a brit kormány belügyminiszter tömeges pereknek nézhet elébe, ugyanis vízumkáosz akadályozta a gyors beutazást Nagy-Britanniába ukránok ezrei számára.
A Guardian értesülése szerint több jótékonysági szervezet, köztük a Save the Children és a Refugee Council csoportos keresetet készít elő több száz ukrán nevében, akiket veszélybe sodort a minisztérium működése. A szervezetek szerint a hatóságok késése komoly traumákat okozhatott az érintetteknek, akik az orosz invázió miatt amúgy is súlyos helyzetben voltak.
A lap szerint nem csak az ügyintézés lassúsága volt a baj, hanem az is, hogy a Belügyminisztérium sok esetben jóváhagyta a vízumot, de nem értesítette a sikeres kérelmezőket. A kormány múlt héten csütörtökön elismerte, hogy problémák voltak a vízumokkal, és hogy ukrán családok akár öt hetet is vártak a hivatalos válaszra.
A legfrissebb kormányzati adatok szerint 59 ezren vannak olyanok, akik kaptak vízumot, de még nem érkeztek meg az Egyesült Királyságba.
A meg nem érkezettek nagy része az utazás előtt megvárja a többi családtag vízumát. A gyermekek kérelmeinek elbírálása általában tovább tart, mivel az Egyesült Királyság megköveteli, hogy biztonsági vizsgálaton essenek át, ha nem rendelkeznek saját nemzetközi útlevéllel.
Az 59 ezer ukrán többsége azonban azok közül kerülhet ki, akinek már jóváhagyták a vízumot, csak nem tájékoztatták őket a döntésről.

A szankcionált képviselők között van Steve Barclay, a Downing Street kabinetfőnöke, illetve a Képviselőház (House of Commons) elnöke, Lindsay Hoyle is.
A megtorló intézkedés megtiltja a brit képviselőknek az Oroszországba történő belépést.
A szankciókat azután hozták, hogy az Egyesült Királyság 386 orosz alsóházi (Duma) képviselőket illetett szankciókkal március 11-én.
A szankcionált képviselők között konzervatívok és munkáspártiak is vannak.

Köztük van Szergej Kozlov és Alekszandr Anancsenko, akik a brit külügyminisztérium tájékoztatása szerint a két délkelet-ukrajnai szakadár térség, az önmagukat „Donyecki Népköztársaság” és „Luhanszki Népköztársaság” néven meghatározó területek kormányainak vezetői.
A brit külügyminisztérium velük együtt 178 olyan személy ellen hozott szankciókat, akik a szeparatista térségek támogatásáról ismertek.
Az új intézkedések emellett kiterjednek hat orosz oligarchára, valamint 22, velük szoros kapcsolatban álló üzlettársra és alkalmazottra.
A londoni külügyi tárca szerint mindez azt jelenti, hogy az ukrajnai háború februári kezdete óta Nagy-Britannia csaknem másfél ezer ember és üzleti vállalkozás, köztük száznál több oligarcha ellen léptetett érvénybe szankciókat.
Az utóbbiak között van Roman Abramovics, az angol labdarúgás felső osztályában, a Premier League-ben játszó londoni Chelsea futballklub tulajdonosa és Alekszej Miller, a Gazprom gázipari óriáscég vezérigazgatója.
A brit külügyminisztérium szerdai tájékoztatása szerint a sürgősségi eljárással szankcionált személyek között van Marija Lavrova, Szergej Lavrov orosz külügyminiszter felesége, akit a brit kormány beutazási tilalommal és nagy-britanniai vagyoneszközeinek befagyasztásával sújtott.
London a minap Lavrov lánya, Jekatyerina Szergejevna Vinokurova, valamint Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök két lánya, Katyerina Vlagyimirovna Tyihonova és Marija Vlagyimirovna Voroncova ellen is ugyanilyen szankciókat léptetett életbe.
A brit külügyi tárca szerdai tájékoztatásában felidézi, hogy a nemzetközi büntetőintézkedések 275 milliárd fontnak megfelelő orosz devizakészletet is befagyasztottak; ez Oroszország teljes deviza-tartalékának 60 százaléka.
A minisztérium közleménye szerint az elemzések arra vallanak, hogy az orosz gazdaság a szankciók miatt a Szovjetunió összeomlása óta nem tapasztalt recesszió felé halad.
A londoni külügyi közlemény nem idéz részletesen ilyen elemzéseket, de több nagy londoni elemzőház valóban rendkívüli mértékű visszaesést valószínűsít az orosz gazdaságban.
Az Európai Újjáépítési és Fejlesztési Bank (EBRD) az ukrajnai háború miatt soron kívül összeállított és jelentősen rontott minapi térségi előrejelzésében közölte, hogy várakozása szerint az orosz hazai össztermék (GDP) az idén 10 százalék körüli ütemben zuhan.
Az egyik legnagyobb londoni pénzügyi-gazdasági elemzőműhely, a Capital Economics jelenlegi alapeseti előrejelzése 12 százalékos idei orosz GDP-visszaesést valószínűsít, de abban az esetben, ha a szankciók miatt teljesen leállna az orosz nyersolaj- és földgázexport, a cég szerint 25 százalékkal zuhanna az orosz hazai össztermék 2022-ben.

Az argentin elnök ismételten bejelentette országa igényét a brit korona fennhatósága alá tartozó dél-atlanti Falkland-szigetekre, amelyekért negyven éve a két állam háborút vívott egymással.
„Ha egyvalami biztos, akkor az az, hogy a Falkland-szigetek nem tartozik Nagy-Britanniához” – jelentette ki Fernández a BBC brit műsorszolgáltató spanyol nyelvű szolgálatának adott, pénteken közölt interjújában.
„Argentínát illeti a teljes szuverenitás a Falkland-szigetek felett. Ez a mi földünk” – hangsúlyozta az államfő.
Hírügynökségek megjegyzik, ez az első alkalom, hogy egy argentin elnök a brit sajtónak nyilatkozott az Argentínában Malvinas-szigeteknek hívott, a brit partoktól 13 ezer, Argentínától 460 kilométerre fekvő szigetcsoport ügyében.
A Falkland-szigetek 1833 óta van Nagy-Britannia fennhatósága alatt. 1982. április 2-án hajnalban argentin csapatok szálltak partra a szigetcsoporton, de a tizenegy héten át tartó háború Nagy-Britannia győzelmével ért véget.
