Várhatóan Chris Hipkins jelenlegi oktatásügyi miniszter lesz Új-Zéland új miniszterelnöke, mivel ő az egyedüli jelölt a kormánypárt vezetői tisztségére.
A hírt szombaton közölte az új-zélandi Munkáspárt. A 44 éves politikus személyét a párt vezető tisztségében még vasárnap hivatalosan jóvá kell hagynia a Munkáspárt 64 parlamenti képviselőjéből álló gyűlésnek.
Ez pusztán formaságnak számít megfigyelők szerint. A párt új vezetője egyben a következő, októberben tartandó általános választásokig miniszterelnök is lesz.
Hipkinst 2008-ban választották be az új-zélandi parlamentbe, ahol a koronavírus-járvány során szerzett nevet magának miután 2020 novemberében kinevezték járványügyi miniszternek.
Hipkins jelenleg a rendőrségért, az oktatásért és a közszolgáltatásokért felelős miniszter tisztségét látja el.
Jacinda Ardern leköszönő új-zélandi miniszterelnök kimerültségre hivatkozva csütörtökön váratlanul bejelentette, hogy öt és fél év után lemond, legkésőbb február 7-én távozik a kormányfői posztról.

Jacinda Ardern legkésőbb február elején távozik a posztról, de a képviselői mandátumát még megtartja.
Meglepetésre bejelentette lemondását Új-Zéland miniszterelnöke; Jacinda Ardern akkor közölte, hogy legkésőbb február 7-én távozik a posztjáról, amikor a következő általános választás időpontját közölte – írja a The Guardian. A politikus kimerültséggel indokolta a döntését.
„Azért távozom, mert az ilyen kiváltságos szerep felelősséggel jár. Annak felelősségével, hogy tudd, mikor vagy te a megfelelő ember a vezetésre és azt is, hogy mikor nem. Tudom, mivel jár ez a munka. És tudom, hogy nincs már elég a tankban ahhoz, hogy jól tudjam csinálni. Ez ennyire egyszerű” – magyarázta a 42 éves Ardern, aki az októberi választásokig megtartja képviselői mandátumát.
„Ember vagyok, a politikusok emberek. Mindent megteszünk, amit tudunk, ameddig csak tudunk. Aztán eljön az idő. És számomra eljött az idő” – tette hozzá a politikus, aki elmondása szerint a nyári szünet alatt mérlegelte a helyzetet és döntött úgy, hogy nincs már energiája miniszterelnökként folytatni.
A munkáspárti Ardern a világ legfiatalabb miniszterelnöknője lett, amikor 2017-ben, 37 évesen megválasztották. 2018-ban anya lett, egyben csupán a második választott modernkori választott vezető, aki hivatali ideje alatt szült.
Ő vezette az országot, amikor 2019-ben egy fegyveres 51 muszlimot gyilkolt meg Christchurch városának két mecsetjében. Ezután kezdeményezte – s a parlament meg is szavazta –, hogy tiltsanak be minden félautomata lőfegyvert.
A koronavírus-járvány idején Új-Zélandon vezették be az egyik legszigorúbb lezárást. A hatékony járványkezelésnek köszönhetően a Covid-19-ben elhunytak száma a hivatalos adatok szerint 2500 alatt maradt, ami Ardern népszerűségének is jót tett, 2020 októberében újraválasztották.
Beszédében Ardern úgy fogalmazott, reméli, hogy az új-zélandiak továbbra is hisznek majd abban, hogy „lehetsz kedves, de erős, empatikus, de határozott, optimista, de céltudatos. És lehetsz magadfajta vezető, olyan, aki tudja, mikor kell távozni”.
Elárulta azt is, hogy nincsenek előre eldöntött tervei a jövőre nézve azon túl, hogy több időt akar tölteni a családjával.

Mint beszámoltunk róla, Volodimir Zelenszkij ukrán elnök szerdán arra szólította fel Új-Zélandot, hogy vegyen részt egy olyan béketerv létrehozásában, amely kitér a háború környezetkárosító hatásainak felszámolására is.
Az ukrán államfő arról is beszélt, hogy a háború okozta környezeti ártalmak emberek millióit érintik majd hosszú-hosszú évekre. „Az orosz támadások beszennyezték vizeinket, és 7,4 millió hektárnyi erdőterületen okoztak nagy károkat.”
Nincs és soha nem is lehet igazi béke ott, ahol ökocídium történt, és annak következményeit nem sikerül semlegesíteni – fogalmazott Zelenszkij.
A beszéd után az új-zélandi kormány 3 millió dollár értékben humanitárius segélyt ígért Ukrajnának, továbbá újabb szankciókat rendelt el befolyásos iráni személyekkel, valamint egy, drónok gyártásával és Oroszországba szállításával foglalkozó szervezettel szemben – írja a The Guardian.
„Az Ukrajnának nyújtott támogatásainkat nem a földrajzi tényezők, nem a történelem, nem a diplomáciai kapcsolatok határozzák meg. A mi döntésünk egyszerű volt: feltettük magunknak a kérdést: mi lenne, ha velünk történne mindaz, ami jelenleg ott zajlik” – mondta Jacinda Ardern új-zélandi miniszterelnök.

Az új-zélandi kormány törvényjavaslatot nyújt be arról, hogy 16 évre szállítsák le a választói korhatárt az országban, miután a legfelsőbb bíróság úgy határozott, alaptalanul diszkriminál a jelenlegi szabályozás, amely szerint csak 18 év felettiek szavazhatnak – jelentette be hétfőn Jacinda Ardern új-zélandi kormányfő.
A miniszterelnök elmondta, hogy a parlament hat hónapon belül dönt a javaslatról. Még ha támogatást is kap a kezdeményezés, a következő parlamenti választáson még nem lépne automatikusan életbe az alacsonyabb választói korhatár, mert a választási bizottság határoz majd arról, ténylegesen mikortól vezetnék be a módosítást – tette hozzá.
A Make It 16 nevű csoport indította el a kezdeményezést, amelyet már 2020 óta tárgyaltak különféle bíróságok. A legfelsőbb bíróság határozata nem kötelezi a parlamentet törvénymódosításra, csak annyit ír elő, hogy a törvényhozóknak napirendre kell venni a kérdést.
A választói korhatár csökkentéséhez a parlamenti képviselők 75 százalékának támogatása szükséges. A kormányzó Munkáspártnak magában nincs ekkora többsége a törvényhozásban, de a Zöldek és a Maori párt is támogatja a javaslatot. A Nemzeti Párt és az ACT párt viszont jelezte, nem lesznek partnerek a kezdeményezés megvalósításában.

Olekszij Reznyikovval tartott egyeztetése után Peeni Henare közleményben arról tájékoztatott, a felek megállapodtak, hogy Új-Zéland 2023 júliusáig meghosszabbítja az ukrán katonák Egyesült Királyságban történő kiképzését támogató programját.
Henare hangsúlyozta, hogy látogatását üzenetnek szánja, és hozzátette: Wellington Ukrajna iráni elkötelezettsége megingathatatlan.
Új-Zéland a múlt héten jelentette be, hogy további 66 honvédségi alkalmazottat küld az Egyesült Királyságba, hogy segítsenek az ukrán katonák kiképzésében. A háború kezdete óta Wellington több mint 1200 orosz természetes és jogi személyt helyezett szankciós listára és több mint 60 millió új-zélandi dollár támogatást küldött Ukrajnának.
Henare Lengyelországba is ellátogatott, ahol ottani partnerével, Mariusz Blaszczakkal találkozott, és kifejezte együttérzését a kedden történt kelet-lengyelországi rakétaincidens miatt, amelyben két ember meghalt.

Wellington emellett 13 millió új-zélandi dollárt adományoz hadi és humanitárius célokra. Az összegből 7,5 millió az Egyesült Királysághoz kerül fegyverek és lőszerek beszerzése céljából.
„Ilyen nyilvánvaló támadás egy ország szuverenitása ellen mindannyiunk számára fenyegetést jelent, ezért nekünk is szerepet kell vállalnunk” – tette hozzá.
Peeni Henare védelmi miniszter azt közölte, hogy az 58 ember nem lép ukrán területre, feladatuk az Ukrajnának szánt felszerelés és készletek elosztása lesz az erre kialakított európai központokban.
Az új-zélandi parlament március 9-én egyhangúlag, gyorsított eljárásban szavazta meg az Oroszország elleni szankciók bővítését. Moszkva április elején válaszul személyi beutazási korlátozásokkal sújtotta az új-zélandi és az ausztrál politikai vezetést. A tájékoztatás szerint 228 ausztrál kormányzati tisztségviselő és parlamenti képviselő, köztük Scott Morrison ausztrál kormányfő, illetve Új-Zéland esetében 130 tisztségviselő és képviselő került szankciós listára, Ardernt is beleértve,

A pénteken közzétett eredmények alapján az új-zélandiak szűk többséggel elutasították a népszavazáson a marihuána legalizálását, viszont egyértelműen támogatták az eutanázia törvényesítését.
A szavazók 50,7 százaléka mondott nemet a marihuána legalizálására, míg 48,4 százalék szavazott igennel. Egyértelműbb többség alakult ki a másik népszavazáson, ahol az eutanáziáról mondtak véleményt a szigetország lakói: 65,1 százalék támogatta az eutanázia törvényesítését 33,7 százaléknyi ellenszavazattal szemben – közölte a választási bizottság.
Jacinda Ardern, Új-Zéland nemrég újraválasztott kormányfője – aki a referendumra bocsátott mindkét kezdeményezést támogatta – korábban azt ígérte, tiszteletben fogja tartani a népszavazás eredményét. Így második kormányzati ciklusában várhatóan nem kerül majd újra napirendre a marihuána legalizálása.
Jövőre lesz hatályos
Az eutanáziáról szóló törvény 2021 novemberében fog életbe lépni. Ennek értelmében az olyan gyógyíthatatlan betegségben szenvedő ember, aki várhatóan 6 hónapon belül meghal és elviselhetetlen fájdalmakkal küzd, kérvényezheti, hogy gyógyszerekkel vessenek véget az életének.
Parlamenti választások is zajlottak
A két népszavazást október 17-én, egy időben tartották a parlamenti választásokkal, amelyen a régi-új kormányfő vezette baloldali-liberális Munkáspárt földcsuszamlásszerű győzelmet aratott, így egyedül alakíthatott kormányt.
A 40 éves Jacinda Ardernt pénteken iktatták be második kormányfői hivatalába. Kormányában sok nő és több maori őslakos is helyet kapott.
A parlamenti választás hivatalos végeredményét is pénteken hozták nyilvánosságra. Ebből kiderült, hogy Ardern nem az eddig emlegetett 49, hanem 50 százalékot szerzett a választáson, és pártja az eddig kalkulált 64 helyett 65 parlamenti mandátumhoz jutott a 120 fős törvényhozásban.
