A jelentés Lecornu feltette a kérdést: „A ma ismert fegyverszállítmányok és a társhadviselés, vagyis az Oroszországgal vívott nyílt háború között mindent megpróbáltunk?” Egyúttal több cselekvési lehetőséget is felvázolt, megemlítve a „katonai jelenlétet aknamentesítés céljából, ukrán katonák kiképzését ukrán földön”.
„Már nem vagyunk abban a helyzetben, mint két évvel ezelőtt” – hangsúlyozta a francia védelmi miniszter, felidézve az ukrán ellentámadás eredményeit, Olekszij Navalnij orosz ellenzéki vezető meggyilkolását, „az Oroszországból eredő fenyegetéseket az európai demokráciára, elsősorban az agresszív kiberakciókat” és az amerikai Kongresszusban blokkolt katonai támogatást.

Franciaországnak nem áll szándékában harcoló csapatok küldése Ukrajnába – közölte pénteken Stephane Sejournay francia külügyminiszter, számolt be az rbc.ua hírportál a France TV francia tévécsatornára hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint Sejournay megvédte Emmanuel Macron francia elnök kijelentéseit, mondván, hogy azok egy „stratégiai kétértelműség” részét képezik, de lehetővé teszik Párizs számára, hogy „a történelem jobbik oldalán álljon”. Ugyanakkor kitartott amellett, hogy Párizs nem küld „semmilyen harcoló csapatot”. „Franciák nem fognak meghalni Ukrajnáért” – hangsúlyozta.
A francia diplomácia vezetője emlékeztetett a Franciaország által kialakított „egyértelmű keretre”, nevezetesen: „legyőzni Oroszországot anélkül, hogy háborút vívnánk Oroszországgal”, „akadályozzuk meg Oroszországot abban, hogy megnyerje a háborút, anélkül, hogy Moszkvával harcolnánk”. „A köztársasági elnök által kialakított keretek mindentől függetlenül nagyon egyértelmű jelzést küldenek Oroszországnak, hogy nem adjuk fel az ukránok melletti harcot” – mutatott rá Stephane Sejournay.
