A jelentés szerint az ukrán diplomácia vezetője élesen bírálta, hogy Zelenszkij nem szólalhat fel az Oscar-gála ünnepségén. „Azt gondolom, hogy ha A nyugati fronton a helyzet változatlan című film elnyeri a legjobb külföldi film Oscar-díját, és Zelenszkij elnököt, aki a háborúban álló országot vezeti, amely a második világháború óta a legnagyobb háborúban harcol Európában, nem engedik felszólalni az Oscaron, „akkor nincs is jobb példa a filmipar felső vezetőinek és producereinek képmutatására” – mutatott rá Dmitro Kuleba.
Mint ahogyan arról már korábban beszámoltunk, tegnap az Oscar visszautasította Zelenszkij ajánlkozását, hogy beszédet mond díjátadó ünnepségen. Azt is megjegyezte, hogy a Filmakadémia visszaeső, mert tavaly sem volt hajlandó közvetíteni az ukrán elnök videobeszédét.
